Retard-O-Bot Discography

Retard-O-Bot is an American electropunk and post-industrial rock band formed in Tampa, Florida in 1999. Across albums, EPs, demos, archival recordings and new releases, the band’s catalog mixes synthesizers, punk energy, electronic beats, abrasive guitars and a sense of humor that was probably questionable even at the time.

After building an underground following through national touring in the 2000s, Retard-O-Bot went on hiatus in 2009. The archives reopened in 2024 with the Lost Sessions series, followed by the band’s return with new music in 2025.

Monday Night Electropunk continued the band’s return with a direct link between Retard-O-Bot’s past and present. Its artwork originated from a drawing created during the Friendship Forever touring era nearly two decades earlier.

Retard-O-Bot returned with Story Arc, reconnecting the band with its original electropunk identity while acknowledging the strange experience of being rediscovered by a generation that had no connection to the scene that created it.

This EP arrived during the later years of the band’s original run, when Retard-O-Bot releases and merchandise were reaching a wider national audience. It was intended to be the EP release prior to the follow up album, Time's A Wasting, which did not see an official release.

Released between the band’s first two albums, Rabid captures Retard-O-Bot during a period of rapid growth, touring and increasingly unruly live shows.

Released during the height of the band’s original touring era, Friendship Forever became one of the defining records in the Retard-O-Bot catalog and remains closely associated with its mid-2000s electropunk sound.

Retard-O-Bot’s first full-length album pushed the band’s early synth-punk experiments into a more developed collision of electronics, guitar, recorded drums and chaotic songwriting.

The second demo further developed the programmed beats, synthesizers, punk energy and absurdist songwriting that would become central to the band’s sound.

The first Retard-O-Bot demo comes from the project’s earliest period, when the original concept centered on making strange electronic punk songs to accompany cartoons.
